Family Photos and Maternity Session

We had another great family photo session with our friend Amanda from Amanda Marie Photography.  She does such a great job with the kids.  And when I asked if she could tag on a few maternity shots, she immediately agreed!! (So sweet.)
Here are some highlights.

Asher's Christmas Show

This year Asher was able to participate in our church's children's Christmas show.  They've got things down to a science.  In their all knowing brilliance, the 2-5 year olds are in the first three songs.  Then they get to sit with mom and dad and enjoy the rest of the show.  (It was a great show too, I was impressed.)
We had no idea how he would do with the "performance", but as the kid loves to sing, we gave it a shot.  In conclusion, he looked really cute as an angel.  He did sing.  And he spent his time on stage wandering around in the back checking out the props and the other kids. Microphone hog he was not.  We could only see his little red head periodically through the crowd.  Oh Asher, you crack us up.!!
He had fun meeting Frosty at the festivities before the show.
Our little star.

Polar Express

We ventured to the Polar Express for the first time and had tons of fun!
My sis and her family have been going for years, so we took her lead on all things P.E.

Asher did such a great job with Santa.  We had no idea how he would react, but when placed on his lap for the picture, he looked up and confidently asked for a balance bike.  Good job Ash!!
P.S. I'm sure he would tell you that his favorite part of the whole experience was getting to eat a whole cookie- even before having dinner. Silly me for thinking it would be the train.  :-)

Baby news! Drum-roll please...

We are beyond thrilled that a sweet baby girl will be joining the Dahl House in April!!  We feel this is such a blessing and so wonderful to learn this news right before Thanksgiving.  There is so much in our lives to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Scooby-Dooby-Doo!

We got our very own puppy for Halloween this year- our little Scooby Doo!
He loved this costume and I'm super impressed how he kept it on all night.
(I didn't get a good close up of him for some reason.)
So Asher really "got" Halloween this year.  He did a great job knocking on doors, saying "Trick or Treat" and then "Thank You" when leaving.  He also liked getting more and more candy in his bucket.  Hmmm- how fast they learn.  Especially considering that he's not really sure what this candy stuff actually is. :-)
We also went to my sister's neighborhood.  There is this one amazing street where they go all out. Holy cow- his bucket was filled from that one street alone!!
Hard to see, but there was a giant Scooby Doo and he wanted his picture with it.
Asher was introduced to pumpkin carving this year. He liked playing with the gooey seeds.
Daddy did a great job of creating an awesome owl pumpkin! Asher's request.

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

We headed to Dewey, AZ to Mortimer Family Farms for our pumpkin patch fun this year.  And they did not disappoint!! I'm sure it was partly because it was the same place (different owners) where Jen and I went as kids- great memories. Also, it allowed us to get out of town for the day, have some cooler weather, and actually walk through the fields to choose our pumpkins. They also have lots for the kids to do and plenty of food.
Asher was so excited and kept talking about the "pumpkin patch."  He had such a good time choosing pumpkins- the thrill of the hunt.  We actually had to put a number back since we thought around 10 was too many. Can't wait for next year!!

And here is a peek at the baby bump.  Yep, it's already here at 13 weeks.

Big Brother

Asher is excited to announce that he will be a big brother in April 2016!!!
We will find out if he will have a baby brother or sister in just 2 weeks. So exciting!
Fun Fact: The shirt that Ash is wearing was Daddy's shirt when he was about Asher's age. Thanks for keeping it Gma- so fun for it to be passed down!

Denver

We went to visit the Schossow's at the end of June. It's been no fun having family live so far away, but I do have to say that Denver in June was awesome for the AZ people!!
Such a nice welcome!!
We had such a great time. We spent so much time outdoors. And I just cannot get over those boys- such awesome cousin bonding!
The boys discovered ladybugs!!
We ventured to the Aquarium.
 It's Nemo and Dory!!
Even the nighttime routine is fun with your cousins.
Nick and Brandon were able to fit in a round of golf.  Too bad the surroundings weren't nice to look at. :-)  (Nice swing, babe!)
Park time is a must with toddlers.
My favorite place we visited was the Chatfield Botanical Garden.  It was so amazingly beautiful!  Being from AZ, I'm used to cacti in a botanical garden.  I'll take this one any day!  I could have wandered around for hours.  So picture perfect!! I never got a picture to do it justice, but so many flowers were in bloom. There were also animals to see and a little play area for the kids.
We got to hang out with our friends, the Langs, and had a great time catching up.  Denver snatched them away from AZ, too.  Hmm, I hope this isn't becoming a pattern.
Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye.  Asher and Toby were beyond adorable together! Asher still asks about seeing Aunt B, Uncle Nick, Toby and Levi almost daily.
We love you guys and hope to see you again soon!!
