Asher- 1 month old

On July 11th, Asher turned 1 month old!!

And today, daddy's goatee turned 1 month old!
He grew it out for "solidarity" purposes-
our kid needs to know his red hair comes from somewhere!
My grandfather Lloyd (yes, where we got Asher's middle name)
also had red hair in his younger days.
Got to love recessive genes!

4th Family Fun

I can't believe July 4th has come and gone!  I feel like I am in such a fog lately due to lack of sleep; I blink and time races by.  So I made a serious effort not to miss out on our 4th family fun- it was Asher's first, after all!
This year we opted to stay home and had Jen and the kids over.  (Ryan was very missed as he was/is out of state helping to fight a wildfire.)

Uncle B took the girls swimming- a highlight in their day.  I meant to get out there for a while, but ended up feeding baby.  So glad Auntie Jen got a shot of the fun!
No firework watching, lame I realize.  Yet I know this would have been challenging with a 3 week old.

To round out our fun, on Saturday we made our annual trip to Prescott for the town parade.  (This was Asher's biggest adventure yet!!)

We spent most of our time on the grassy area in the town square.  It's a great place for the kiddos to run around, or in Asher and Nolan's case, to explore our blanket area. :-)
We made our way to the Prescott Brewery for lunch (another tradition) and the adults enjoyed the chicken pot pie.  (It is seriously amazing!)
Then back to the grass for more playtime.

 And a little relaxing.
So happy to have family time!!

When we were all tired out, we loaded up to head home.
Hope you all had a great 4th!!

Asher's "firsts", etc.

I believe I have joined the club of those who almost exclusively post about their child/children.  I totally get it now- they are awesome and your life is all about them, so why not?!!  :-)
I wanted to make sure I wrote down some of Asher's "firsts."  (Mainly so I don't forget- which is inevitable.)
One of his first times with a binky.
Asher's first iPhone exposure; with cousin Kaylee.

June 15th- headed home from the hospital; he went in his carseat and braved the outside world for the first time

June 16- helped Brandon celebrate Father's Day by being the best present ever!

June 22nd- lost umbilical cord
June 23rd- first time to church; he was a hit with everyone!

June 25th- first full bath (which he did not like, I might add)

A little bit better now that he's in a dry, warm towel.
Our clean little man!!

Other things to note:
He has held his head up and turned it back and forth for short periods of time almost since day 1.
He has always made lots of little noises which I think sound like a monkey. They are so cute!  Therefore, I call him Monkey, Monkey Man, etc.  I feel that I need to take advantage of this now since I am sure that once he is aware of it, he'll tell me not to. LOL!

Other pictures over the first 3 weeks:

T-rex arms!!
He looks so Irish here- we will call him Asher O'Dahl!!
Loves having his arms up.
Activity mat time!
All curled up on his side by Memaw.
He laced his own fingers together- LOL!
