Say What?!

While Asher has been a very vocal child, he has chosen to wait to use most words until 18 months. Dada was his first word months ago, yet now he uses it (mostly) in context.
Mainly so I can remember, here are the words we hear from him the most:
Dada
Mama
Memaw
Ball
Uh-oh
Hi
Bye bye
Help
More
Cheese
Water
Choo-choo
Hot
Hat
Baby
Ninny- our Elf
Boom- mainly accompanied by giving knuckles
Bat-ba- our Roomba vacuum

A couple of common phrases we are currently trying to decipher:
"Hey B" or sometimes "Hey Baby" if we say the word baby.  We can't figure out what he's referring to as he often says it when he's proud of himself.  I first thought it was "how big", as in "how big are you Asher!" We're still not sure.
"Ha-Bum"- yes, he seems to like the H and B sounds.  Again, not a clue what this one means either.
Can't wait for what we'll hear next!!

Christmas

We had a lot going on in December this year.  And I think that's how it's going to be from now on. Tons of fun! And instead of doing separate posts, I've smashed it all in to one- lucky you.

In mid December, my Aunt Fay and Uncle Jim came to visit.  This was such a blessing and big deal! They selflessly cared for my grandma and grandpa in their home for 10+ years, which meant traveling out of state was not an option.  We enjoyed an early family Christmas together.  We loved having them here and can't wait for them to come again! (And kudos to Ryan for figuring out the timing on his camera in order to catch a pretty great picture of the gang.)
Asher discovered that he likes to tear off wrapping paper- no matter who the gift is for.

I've been told that the Train Park has a fun holiday event, so we checked it out this year. Asher is in to trains, and we all had a blast.  (Go on a weeknight though, as I'm told it can get crazy crowded.)
Apparently Asher is also in to large costumed characters.  Love this kid!

My sis-in-law and family held their annual Lentine Christmas Party.  We had such a great time and to top it off, Santa came to visit!  Asher seemed a bit curious about the guy in red, but did not cry at all.
We held our (now) annual Gingerbread Party.  For years I have decorated gingerbread houses with Kaylee and Lexi.  This year we expanded it to the whole family and made it a party! We also celebrated Nick and Belinda turing the big 3-0.
Seems we have some real gingerbread decorating artists in the mix.
Cousin Hug!

Once again, Highlands Church put on an amazing Christmas service this year reminding us of the true meaning of the season.  And I am so proud of my hubby's singing. There was a tear in the eye of more than one in the audience during his performance of a song written by our pastor called Light a Candle.
For the kiddos, a train ride was available before the service.  Asher was so excited about riding the "choo-choo."

While there, we met up with our good friends!  We were so excited our friends the Rattay's came home from overseas for a visit.  We've missed them so, and it was also so neat to get the boys together again.
Christmas Eve was filled with more fun- can't you tell by Asher's face?!  Yep, he's the one crying.  I guess that's what we get for putting 3 one year olds on a bench and telling them to stay there for a picture.  Love it!

Waiting for Santa...actually, Mommy and Daddy are waiting for this little dude to go to sleep. Also, this is one of the only pictures I got of Ash in his Christmas jammies.  His diaper leaked a couple of hours later- go figure.

Christmas Day was awesome this year, mainly because Asher had so much fun.  He spent the morning looking at his gifts with milk in hand- see below.

The favorite gift of the year- the red wagon!  Who knew??  Thanks Memaw!
He spent the majority of the day in the wagon and would probably still be sitting there to this day if I didn't insist it move into the garage.  Ha!!

Other fun holiday shots.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2015!!
