Maggie- 10 months old

On January 27th, Maggie turned 10 months old!!

Here are some things sweet Mags is up to:

Her days consist mostly of eating, sleeping and talking.  She loves them all!!  Apparently we are meant to have noisy kids- we have 2 of them.  I feel like Maggie has really found her voice over the last month.  While I still think she’s quite the observer and will sit back and watch quietly for long periods of time, she now will chime in on how she’s feeling.  We hear noises (she does raspberries now) and either ba ba ba, or da da da all day long.

Little Mags is still a big fan of food!  While she’s still in size 3 diapers, she’s moving slowly but surely to size 12 month clothes! She’s in all 12 month jammies.  Our little pre-term peanut is growing for sure!!

Although still not crawling, she scoots around on her tummy and she now goes from her tummy to sitting up!  This is usually followed by giving herself a round of applause.  She did this first on January 22^nd. 

Maggie loves to pick up her sippie and drink by herself, and then she promptly throws the cup.  Never gets old for her. 😊

She had her first bath in the big tub with brother!  She loved it!  Bath time in general is something she enjoys. 

She’s still sporting her 2 bottom teeth smile.  While this is super cute, she has (I’m told) about 4-6 teeth getting ready to come in at any time.  I strongly dislike teething!!! I really feel like she is much more affected than Asher was.  This has made for many not fun, non-sleeping nights for the two of us.  And while I don’t want to wish time away- I can’t wait until teething is over!  Speaking of time- how is my sweet girl 10 months??!!! As the one year mark grows closer, I get more sentimental.  My baby is growing up!!

Asher- 3 1/2 years old

Here are some things that Asher is loving at 3 1/2 years old.

Cooking!! (With adults, but mainly mama.)

Distinguishing between what kids and "adults" can do; and he'll say the word adults a lot

Good guys and bad guys- while playing

Being a superhero- and assigning others super powers too

Mickey Mouse!!

Being "fancy"- this means having his hair styled

Being a doctor 

Putting toys in time out because they don't listen to the other toys. 

Swinging

Candy Land- he’s just getting into games more

iPad- playing little puzzle and games, or watching shows

Doing pretty much everything by himself. 

Favorite color- red

At Thanksgiving 2016 when asked what he was thankful for, Asher said Maggie. Melt my heart!!  He's such a great big brother!!

Common phrases of Asher's:

Are you kidding me? 

It's a volcano! A volcano's coming!!- for some reason, this comes out of his mouth a lot

I keep my shirt out so people think I'm handsome. 

No don't fix my hair!! I only want it a little handsome!!

After having to have me use the wooden spoon to swat his bum, he says, "You should get a bigger spoon."

Why is it that kids/boys find the word poop so funny?? Trying to teach him not to just randomly say it. 

I'm a medium boy. 

I'll go potty because superheroes go potty. 

My latest invention, (turns around and pulls pants down) my bum!!

Singing- yes, this boy still loves music and singing!!

We are working on understanding when it's appropriate to sing and also about voice volume.

He was obsessed for months with the songs/videos from VBX.

3 little Asher's are on the go song – a song he made up; we aren't sure who the 3 Ashers are lol!! Not sure if song writing is in his future.

Maggie- 9 months old

On December 27th, Maggie turned 9 months old!!

Here are some things that Miss Mags is up to:

Maggie got tooth #2 the beginning of the month!

She loves eating!! Anything that she can pick up seems to be a favorite. 

We’ve added new foods like cottage cheese, turkey and various veggies.  She’s pretty much a fan of everything.

She began using her starter sippie cup, and is also working on using big brother's cups as well.  She loves gaining her independence!

Mags got RSV the middle of December.  This was rough!!  The cough caused a lot of sleepless nights- for all of us.

First Christmas!! Maggie experienced her first Christmas and all the fun and festivities that come with it.  Everything was so much fun with both kids this year.

Little girl saw snow for the first time in Prescott right after Christmas.  She didn’t seem to like the cold all that much, unlike brother.  She’s her mama’s daughter!!

Family Pictures 2016

Here are some highlights from this year's family photo shoot.

I love having family photos.  The kids change so much each year, I just love to capture them at that moment.  What I dislike is the actual process.  Anyone else??
There is pressure for all to look great and smile great, because we have one shot at this!!
My kids are often super happy.  Now, the huge disclaimer here is that Asher is 3.  Anything could change at the drop of a hat with him and go to a very bad place.
But really, they are happy.  Yet, I swear they are in front of our super cute and fun photographer and they are suddenly miserable.  Seriously??!!  We all dance around and make crazy noises trying to get them to laugh.  And somehow, each year, many shots turn out great.  I'm thinking she photoshops more than we know- LOL!
Oh, and note to self, the desert looks cool as a background, but not practical for kids.  Tiny little cactus plants were everywhere and we kept hearing, "Something's poking my feet!"  It's also hard to get people to smile when bees are near. And the constant line from every adult- mainly to the boys- "Don't touch that!" "Don't pick that up!" "Stop playing with dirt!"
But that's life now.  And I really am thankful that we are able to capture our family right where we are at in life.

Maggie- 8 months old

On November 27th, Maggie turned 8 months old!!

Here are some things Miss Maggie is up to:
Maggie is back to sleeping through the night almost every night. Usually 12 hours, then naps 2-3 times a day.

She still loves food, but we had to cut back on stuff as her little system seemed unhappy. 

She’s using her voice more and more, although not saying words.  (No mama or dada yet.)

Maggie scoots around a little bit on her tummy, but no crawling yet.

She is a mama’s girl through and through!! And I have to admit, I can't get enough of this little girl.

Maggie is still mesmerized by Asher.  He gets her attention more than anyone.

She’s doing better at church daycare. Which gives mama a nice break.

Little Mags has moved to a new bathtub! She’s using the blow up one Asher used and she loves that she can sit, kick her feet and splash!  She really does like her bath.

She got her first tooth!! November 17^th.  It’s the bottom front right. I still have get to get a picture.

Maggie is sitting up.  And she loves it!  She went from being really wobbly, to really sturdy in a matter of a day. Big girl!

She's wearing size 3 diapers, size 6 and 6-9 month clothes and 9 month jammies!
